Downloaded xubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso.

Verified MD5, SHA1, and SHA256 hashes.

Burned CD and put it in the drive. Ran the CD checker and verified the CD was good.

Tried to boot to live CD and I get a stream of errors:

stdin: error 0

Over and over and over until it finally exits out and gives me this:

BusyBox v1.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu7) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

And then it drops to an initramfs prompt.

Xubuntu 9.04 LiveCD worked just fine with this same PC.

Anybody? I'm stuck using 9.04 until I can figure this out.

Downloaded it again from the same mirror. Checked all the hashes and checked disc integrity via the boot menu.

The only thing different was:

1) Different PC with different CD/DVD drive
2) Used ImgBurn instead of Roxio because Roxio is crap

It's currently 45% installed.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same problem. Stdin error: 0. Verified ISO image with WinMD5Sum on DVD. When I restart, I get a dual-boot option, but Ubuntu won't install. I also can't find any other useful references on the web for this, please help.

I am also experiencing the same thing. And what's really strange is that I have already used the same cd for installing Ubuntu once, then my computer screwed up completely after a freeze during an update - right now, ubuntu is not even listen in the grub menu, and I can't even start up the machine with a live cd since this only gives me this Stdin error 0. =/
