View Full Version : [ubuntu] Gnome panel, Firefox 3.5 issues after upgrade

My upgrade to Karmic ran mostly smoothly, but I've noticed two issues so far:

1. My top panel is too big. I usually have it set to a height of 24 px, but it's a lot larger now. Lowering the size in the properties unfortunately has no effect. I suspect the icons are enforcing a minimum size. I've attached a screenshot.

2. Firefox has only one search plugin: Ask.com. Before upgrading, I was running Firefox 3.5 from the Mozilla security repository.

Help is appreciated.

I have this too, it looks like it's the Ubuntu icon for the "custom menu bar" applet. If you remove that, the panel shrinks back to the correct size.

I would suspect that changing the actual image that the icon uses with a smaller one would solve the problem, but I'm not sure where that image is stored or how I would go about finding it.

Additional notes:
The menu size is only an issue with the Tangerine icon set.
Checkgmail no longer changes its background color, even when manually set.
