Is it true that you can install the beta of Ubuntu 9.10 (or Xubuntu) and then have the update manager tidy it up to the final version's level, and if so how? Which commands or steps?

I gave up trying to download the final version today as it seemed the connection I had access to was going to be very slow, probably in part due to demand I suppose, but I then found my beta copies from around ten days back.

Authoritative, non-guesswork replies only for this please. And if it's still better to use the real finished version for any reason do tell me.

Thanks.

Yes, it is true. Just run your update manager as usual. On the release date, your beta stops being a beta. I have done this without problem for the past 3 generations.
