View Full Version : [ubuntu] Computer switching off after upgrade to 9.10

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 yesterday and noticed that my computer was powering off - usually during installation of language files (three times) or when opening the 'Software Centre' replacement for 'Add/Remove...' in Applications (twice), but also once when I wasn't doing anything with it. I reinstalled 9.04 after a while and the problem has gone away.

I realize that 9.10 was still only a developer version yesterday (and still is), but when it comes out later today, will this 'bug' be fixed? Silly question, I suppose. Maybe I should ask if anyone else is having the same problem. I'm running Ubuntu as the only OS on an Acer Aspire 5315.

Any info would be appreciated.

Right, well, after downloading and installing the final release, it appears to be more stable and now - one hour after installation - the computer is still running and not switching itself off. The odd little crash report turns up now and again, but besides that, the problem that this post was originally about seems to have been cleared up. ;)
