View Full Version : [ubuntu] multiple instances of desktop

So, here is my problem:

I have compiz enabled to draw my desktop so that I have a different wallpaper for each side of the 'cube'. Despite the fact that everywhere I look I see that I have configured 4 columns and 1 row (I think, could be the reverse), I have 4 different cubes.

When clicking on another workstation on the desktop switcher on my bottom panel, I arrive at another desktop with the same wallpaper as the one (side of the cube) I changed from; I can then turn that cube around to find 3 other panels (for a total of four) that correspond to the four panels that each of these 'cube's have.

I would like to just have one four-sided cube for my workstations/desktops.

**more info: Earlier in my Ubuntu experience, I tried to get different wallpapers for each workstation and I think I might have installed another program that draws them, but I do not know what program that might have been

**also, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th instances of the cube do not have the side taskbar/panels that I have set up on my original cube.

It's not a big problem, but it is annoying. Any help is appreciated.
