Laptop fan

I do not know if anyone else is experiencing this, but when I am in Ubuntu, rather than windows, my laptop fan is going ape s**t.

I am using Karmic beta with the latest updates.

So has anyone else noticed this?

Just for reference I am on a Dell Inspiron 1545.

Same for me. I have conky running so I can see that RAM and CPU use is really low yet the fan still whirs away as though the system is under heavy load.

I noticed the fan usage in Jaunty was higher than it should have been too. Karmic has taken it yet another step!
