I need a little help.

I just bought a used laptop for my daughter. It's an older machine and has no ethernet port for internet access. The only way to connect is wireless. I have a Belkin wireless card which works fine with Ubuntu after Hardware Manager downloads the driver.

I noticed an install option that allows for the use of a driver cd during installation.

How do I make such a cd. Is it as simple as downloading the driver and burning it onto a cd, do I have to make an ISO, or is there a special program to run to create driver disk?

Is there a better way to get wireless working without a wired connection?

Any help or advice is appreciated.

I just searched around a bit for it and found this post (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=837978) as well as this page (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Ubiquity/DriverUpdates) on the Ubuntu wiki.

I'm unsure of the kernel version, but it seems fairly straightforward once you know it. Good luck, and hope this is helpful.

Thanks. My google search didn't turn up anything useful. Probably didn't ask the right question.
