I need to know if there is a way to verify the integrity of ubuntu after I install, I've been using ubuntu for about six months now (through wubi) and recently lost everything due to an unavoidable hard reset.
I've decided to do a normal install of jaunty (no windows :p) and have read all of the faqs and install instructions on how to burn the cd, ect, but I have a problem, the only machine I have to download the ISO and burn the cd is the house computer, but it's running windows and I don't have admin. access and therefore can't install winmd5sum or any other program to verify the checksum, is there a way to verify it after the install to avoid problems later on due to corruption??
I know that this isn't the ideal way to do things, but it's the only way I have.

Go ahead a burn the CD then run check media for defects option.
It does a series of checksums. If it comes back good then you should be fine.
