Yeah, great... get the bear used to humans so when they run across an unexpecting human who panics, and makes the bear panic it hurts somebody and or just because it was "too close to humans" and "wasn't afraid of humans" the witch hunt goes out and kills the "wild" and "dangerous" bear.

And no, I did not watch the video yet because I'm at work and they frown on that type of stuff.

A grizzly bear would be belching like Barney Gumble.

not sure how he explains the predatory food attacks against people, except that maybe these attacks are misunderstood. although it has been documented that bears do stalk people and view them as a tasty meal.
I remember reading a sad story about tiger cubs that a family raised. they had a little girl who used to play with and take care of them. one day when the cubs had grown into young tigers, the play got too rough and she was killed by a bite on the neck or head.

My own cat can play very rough sometimes.

Cats the size of an average dog are too vicious to be pets. Only their small size makes it possible.

This reminds me of a documentary on Discovery within the last few years. He lived among the Bears and kept a videolog. He had an idealistic view of them, they gradually accepted his presence. Then one day, he and his girlfriend, who had joined him, got eaten.

This bear just wants to eat or play with its food like any normal bear would do.

Black bears are not that dangerous they are the clowns of the forest. There have been three deaths due to black bears in the United states in the last hundred years. More in northern Canada.
But mostly they are just shy.

Sorry about that but was quoting an article I had read from the BBC. and I notice that mosst of the deaths that you posted were brown bears not black bears.
best regards M.

I thought black bears were "dangerous". Anyhow, in sweden we have got brown bears, and they are certainly not dangerous to people. There have been attacks, but almost exclusively at hunters with dogs aggravating the bear. Never for the purpose of eating. I should know, my dad is a world famous bear film maker. He practically lives with them.
Ice bears, or grizzlys on the other hand - they are not pleasant to be around.
