Upgrade ubuntu server 8.04 -> 9.04 hang on console setup

Hi,


I'm upgrading an ubuntu 8.04 server to 9.04,

and the upgrade process hang on this :

any idea of what to do in order to complete the upgrade setup ?

I could kill the echo command that seems to be at the root of the hang?

Well I tried to kill the echo command, and the parent process, it resumes the install then retry to reconfigure the console and hang exactly at the same point...

I'll open a bug ticket if no one has an idea...

The https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+filebug/?no-redirect ends with a timeout.

And ubuntu-bug is not installed on my system... I can't install it because of the dist-upgrade process.
