Why? Does anyone know what was so special about this date? It was 51 days before the release of Jaunty. Did something else happen in the Linux world?

i wonder what day it was when Dell pushed their custom Ubuntu 8.04 Netbook update that bricked my computer and tens of thousands of others around the world?

just conjecture - though i did purchase this thing (dell mini 9) for myself around new years, and it was a couple months later that it bricked when accepting updates... so it fits potentially.

Oh, well... the new record was set on a date which was most certainly not 51 days after the release of Lucid. So much for patterns.
