Is there a gnome alternative to the folder view plasmoid that KDE has?

In, KDE rather that then desktop icons all being on the desktop, they are in a plasmoid called folderview, which looks a tiny bit like a folder window.

Sorry I bit of googling and I found a screenlet that does it,

Install screenlets
Then install this screenlet

Run gconf-editor
Then
apps > nautilus > preferences
Then deselect show_desktop
