Hello forum,

I'm an avid emacs user, and have been using the emacs-snapshot-gtk package since 7.10. However, today I just finished a clean install of 9.10 and found out that an emacs23 package is also available. Considering the snapshot package also install the 23 version, which one is the recommended package to install?

Thanks in advance,

Marcelo.

In Emacs23: M-x version

GNU Emacs 23.1.1 (i486-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.18.3) of 2009-11-10

In Synaptic you can see that Emacs snapshot is dated 20090909. Thus, Emacs23 is more recent than Emacs snapshot.

I run Emacs23 and like it very much. Well, after changing the color theme.

There is only 1 issue that bothers me: w3m-el. It can not be installed with Emacs23.

There is w3m-el-snapshot, but I would like to use Emacs23.
