My Alien Arena 2009 doesn;t run!!

this is the error i got when i try to run crx:

./crx: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I don't know about this game, but judging from the error message you are missing that dependent file. Read your installation info and make sure you have all of the packages installed in your system that this app needs. Push comes to shove, you can do a apt-cache search for the file and find out what package it is hooked to. See the man page for apt-cache for more options to find your file.

thanks to both of you, but as for your link, will it work on Ubuntu Jaunty? im very very new to Ubuntu (i just installed it a week ago)

and btw, will Ubuntu Intrepid or Hardy auto update itself? Im thinking of downgrading to older versions, which seem to support more softwares that i need :confused:
