Black Screan comes When I Play any vedio

Hi, Please help me,
Whenever i play any movie or video on VLC in Ubuntu 9.04 Black Screan comes. i am getting the Audio but not the picture,
Please tell me what is problem there. :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

IF you haz...
Install compizconfig-settings-manager.
Then run it.
Scroll down until you see something to do with video.
Make sure the box for it is checked.
