Today is the day Yahoo shutdown Geocities. I can't help but feel a little sad and nostalgic. Like a lot of people, I had my own little horrible Web 1.0 site there.

Ah yes, I remember - the terrible fonts, the awful gifs, the endless adverts.... happy days.

Thank God, it was rubbish back in the day and it is rubbish now. Long may it Rust in Peace.

I signed up for it but never used it. I have no idea what my URL is/was. It is a little strange to think of old landmark sites that aren't around to be the social networking giants of today.
