Hello

I am trying to install Ubuntu 9,04 on my computer as a second OS. I have successfully made a partition to install it on, but when i run the installation CD, the install menu does not let me choose any of the options except to reboot Vista. Any of the other options I select (Run live CD, Install Ubuntu, Memory test, etc,) cause the CD rom drive to spin up, but nothing happens. I have tried to use the help system, but I am not experienced with Linux and don't understand most of what is there.

I have an HP Pavillion a6073c
Processor - Intel Core Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20 Ghz 1.10 Ghz
RAM 4 GB
My current OS is vista with SP 1

Thanks very much

Bruce

Did you check md5sum (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) and disc integrity after burning iso?Did you burn iso on lower possible speed?

Thanks very much, the md5sum didn't match the one from the Ubuntu page, so I redownloaded it and just finished burning the CD again.
