ok ive searched everywhere.

this website is junk and gives no help from scratch to finish http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=16664

ive used http://ratnadeepdebnath.wordpress.com/2009/05/22/install-windows-games-in-linux-with-playonlinux/ but when i get to the install directx screen i get a "file corrupted try again" error.

ive googled that error but only find http://www.playonlinux.com/repository/?script=424 which doesnt help much.

Ive installed ims 3 through playonlinux. i go to configure and add it to wine. But i know i am going to need directX. I dont have a windows PC to use to grab the files from that i can get to at the moment and would like to get this working as its for a friend of mine. I go to applications, wine, EA, SIMS 3 play sims 3 and nothing happens. Ive gotten the game to install fully on the laptop. It is a dell running jaunty 9.04.

I am about ready to pull my hair out with this. someone please assist me more then just posting links to a how to that doesnt really show you "how to"

Maybe you didn't used illegal crack for that game. I do not advise you to do that.
