Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to the envy 133? It seems to have been removed. Also, are there any plans to evolve the Intel metro as its a pretty old design now (although still beautiful).

Voodoo Envy 133 has been replaced by the HP Envy 13:

hmmm, a macbook-alike. While beautiful, it lacks the optical drive... I know I don't really need one anymore on the move, but the macbook pro has one... for the same size and price too. the extra 16 hours battery life is tempting though. I'm assuming that they extra battery life reduced the possibility for an optical drive.
I still think the 133 was better looking, perhaps in matt, and it should have been marketed better and not just seen on a website that nobody knows of.
my two cents...

I've been following the different reports on Linux compatibility for the newest MacBook Pro, and it seems there are some rough edges that will still be an issue due to the lack of hardware information, which is an Apple-specific problem.
For that reason, the HP Envy 13 seems in a much better position to be a Linux "macbook-alike". Also, the HP Envy 13 has featured very prominently in the Windows 7 announcement, so it has the potential of being a selling success. That may translate in having many Linux users with this laptop, and then it's going to be easier to get it to work under Linux.
We will see, but I am very interested in the potential the "HP Envy" line has for Linux users :-)

Does anyone know of somewhere that you could get a custom laptop made. As in from scratch...
