I have a custom launcher which I've put on the panel. Since I plan on making more custom launchers in future (to launch wine games), I tried to apply a custom icon so I can tell apart the launchers. I tried to both png and svg files, but when I navigate to them through the icon selection, the files don't show up in the dialog box, so I select them manually. When I do so, it complains about not being able to create a dircetory. So, I copied both files to /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/, where other panel icons can be found. Then the icons are displayed proprely.
In the Properties window. But I get sort of a FAIL image instead of my intended icon where it should've been.

I'm using 9.10 beta, I've attached both of the images I am trying to use as icons.
The unedited image file, which isn't uploaded, worked on the desktop icon.

Just try to Drag and Drop the Icon on the former launcher icon (in the edit-menu).
