I upgraded 9.04 to 9.10 again yesterday, frankly speaking, compare to 9.04, I don't see any exciting improvement in 9.10, oppositely, some basic and useful functions are gone,

1. integrated microphone does not work anymore.
2. when earphone is plugged, there is still output from sound box.
3. can not "Enable sound and associate sounds with events" , the gnome-sound-properties program is gone.
4. Chinese font looks awfully bad.

It is 3 days after final release was out, the problems mentioned are still unsolved.

Is it loading the correct kernal? The Grub problem mentioned several times in various posts killed my sound. It loads the older kernal.
