View Full Version : [ubuntu] compiz won't install

i cant get compiz to install this is wht it says: (ubuntu 9.10)

jeremy@jeremy-laptop:~$ sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

E: Couldn't find package compizconfig-settings-manager

maybe just go to synaptic and find for compiz and install the needed packages?

i searched for compiz and they were all installed????

yes. compiz is installed by default. install the compizconfig-settings-manager package, to edit the settings. it will come in system-preferences after you install it

but i cant seem to install it?

right click the package and mark it for installation. then click apply

in the Ubuntu software center it says it is not available in the current data

all apps say not available in the current data

any help appreciated

i have never used karmic before. but maybe you could try to change it to show all available applications and not the ones supported by canonical only

nope im viewing all apps, still nothing ???

i can not get any software to install at all
