Hi, I just plugged my printer into ubuntu, and a couple seconds later it was ready to use, I shouted "EH", I'm like lost for words.

Today I love Ubuntu even More than yesterday :D

Oh yeah, I have a HP Photosmart 335, in windows there is an 83mb driver download and a protracted install process. In Ubuntu it takes under 30 seconds and is 100% automatic.

Too bad Lexmark customers can't share your joy...

Same with me last week. I plugged in my printer (Kubuntu) and it said, 'detected new printer, please wait while installing' something along those lines, then it said, 'printer installed and ready for use'... I was like, wtf... since when do we have that feature... lol...

I can relate to this as well, no more stupid driver disc installations.
And the same is with scanners, you just plug them and run xsane to collect your scans, simple and good

Gutsy, I think. It's pretty impressive, isn't it!

Ya, I had the same thing with HP printer :) Then I found out that HP have a program for Linux that gives even better control and more functionality :) Ands it available as a .deb! :) Bliss :)
