I have 9.04 as my main os and installed 9.10 beta on a separate partition from scratch. The new installation installed grub2 as my boot loader which is working fine.
Now my question is: if grub2 is installed through my test installation (9.10) I cannot remove it without breaking the boot sequence - is this correct? Or does the boot loader install it self somewhere "special"? I've come across MBR with windows installations but I am not entire sure on how Linux deals with this.
I realise I can install grub2 on 9.04 to solve the problem but I'd like to know if I really have to.
Thanks
