Hello everyone!

I am totally new to Ubuntu as well as being a bit of a technophobe so apologies if I'm asking a really basic question.

I am trying to install a D-Link G122 wireless adapter using the CD, however, it won't allow me to install. It goes to archive manager and then comes up with the no entry sign. I've already used the same disc to install in my windows laptop so I know it works.

Does anyone have any advice please?

Thanks!
Swoz

Linux is NOT Windows, meaning, you can't run MS Windows programs in Linux to install drivers.

You would do better doing a search in the Networking subforum using the model number of your D-link card. There's a possibility that someone has already figured out how to make it work.

If not, do a search in that same subforum for NDISWrapper -- an alterative method that sometimes work using MS windows drivers.
