Whilst using my Ubuntu based pc I am often listening to the radio, either on-line or on radio.

I listen to the BBC's Radio Five Live: http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/

I also listen to LUGRadio too: http://www.lugradio.org/

What radio station to do listen too? Don't forget to include their link!

The 'Secret Agent' channel at http://www.somafm.com/ is probably my favourite cause it puts me in a cool and creative mood.

But it varies a lot, I often just find a random station that seems to fit my mood with the Stream Tuner program. Dunno how I would manage to listen to music without that program.

I listen to SomaFM's CliqHop a lot, and to JimmyJazz' Wavy Radio.
For the rest, mainly podcasts (Brainwashed (http://www.brainwashed.com) and FlightDynamics) and archived streams (WRIU's Hydrogen Project, WFMU's Clinically Inclined) and old-fashioned radio stations (KinkFM (http://www.kinkfm.com) and Klara (http://www.klara.be)).

I like live365

They got tons of free specialized internet radio stations so I can listen to EBM, "goth" rock, metal, whatever kind of music I need at the moment.

Downside ?

They use mp3s and not .ogg files.

The BBC's World Service live stream (http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/ram/live_infent.ram). Being trapped here in America :p , it's nice to get news coverage that extends beyond the U.S. borders, and doesn't have a fierce bias ... to the left or right.

It's in RealPlayer format, by the way.

i mainly listen to talk radio, i like Groove Salard and Digitally Imported though

i like BinRev best - Binary Revolution

The show covers topics that are of interest to the hacking community including hacking, phreaking, programming, digital rights, social engineering and everything in between.

here's the schedule

Bellcoreradio

The shows main focus is phreaking and telephony, but it
also touches on such topics as Hacking, Social
Engineering, Urban Exploration, and anything else that
tickles our fancy.

there's loads more i like too, but BinRev is my favourite. i know you asked for radio, but a good podcast is **** Radio, you can just stream the mp3 anyway, it's just short 10 minute shows. some of the show's topics have been about VI, video production in Linux, kanotix, Linux directory structure etc

i can promise you the BBC is biased to the left. infact i just put biased in google to check the spelling (my spell checker said it was correct, but it looked so odd i thought i may have spelled the wrong word) and this site below is first in google

BBC Radio 4

www.bbc.co.uk/radio4

The problem is they have most of their most interesting plays and features on during the day when I'm at work so I find their online 'listen again' feature really useful.

And it has my favourite radio soap opera on it.

BTW for the poster who says the BBC is 'left' that is not really how it is percieved in the UK as the BBC is considered quite 'establishment' with a slight govt bias and can be quite middle of the road as it has to serve all those who pay their TV licence fee.

In the past I used a French Jazz station "TSF" something or other. the Link dropeed from stream tuner when I updated to Dapper.... Can't find it online anywhere.

Now I listen to oneplace.com & sermonaudio.com (tons of free downloads)

Music: 1faith.fm , Folkalley.com , anything else from the streamtuner directories...

I love using streamripper with streamtuner. I fill my Ipod up real quick.... 8 hours of a stream with all the tags... sweet.

I listen to SomaFM's CliqHop
Some of SomaFM's stuff is just insane! Their Illinois Street Lounge (http://somafm.com/illstreet.pls) has really wacky Exotica and bizarre wildness like Mel Torme singing "Sunshine Superman" and Esquivel Space Age Bachelor Pad stuff. Secret Agent (http://somafm.com/secretagent.pls) gets crazy too. I listen to Soma quite a bit.

Mainly, I listen to Radio Classique Paris (http://www.tv-radio.com/station/classique-mp3/classique-mp3-128k.pls).

I just started listening to internet radio with Rhythmbox
Im using xgl/compliz with dual screens.
Rhythmbox is not playing nice... it wants to sprawl onto the second screen and I cannot resize it to stay on one screen.

Anyone have a solution or different program to use?

Tonight im listening to Sky FM... classical and Flamenco guitar

Radio FM 4.

I assume we are one of the rare countries having a national alternative radio station.

fm4.orf.at

It's cool. News mostly in English. All kinds of music covered throughout the week, from metal to abstract music over electronic music.
