Is there a way to do a persistent install of server 9.04 to a usb drive. Haven't had any luck.

any number of things could be the cause of your troubles.

what methods have you tried? and on what model/make/size USB drive? can you provide more detail than "not having luck" with the end result?

be very specific, please.

as in, try to be 500 times more specific than you where in your original post. actually, shoot for 5,000 times more specific to be safe.

help us help you, please.

I asked if there was a way to do a persistent install of server 9.04 to a usb drive. Can't imagine that not being specific enough. Really doesn't matter what I've tried (unetbootin, pendrivelinux), I just want to know if anyone has been sucessful doing it. Thanks

One quick and dirty way to do it is to make a bootable Desktop USB system with persistent data and install your server packages there. It should work fine.

If you need a leaner system, you can always make one from scratch:

But I would not recommend any of these options for a mission-critical server.
