Hi,

I've been using Ubuntu for about a month now and everything was going great, then I decided to spice up my desktop a little more with compiz effects.
Compiz works great with my gnome, however sometimes (about 70% of the time) when closing a windows it leaves artifacts behind. I can open a terminal, close it and be perfectly fine, and then a minute later open another terminal, close it and it leaves artifacts.

I've read some solutions (from 2007 so I do not know if they are still relevant) that said to add something to the start command of compiz, but I didn't understand what they meant.

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 with the built-in compiz (I just installed the settings manager)
It's an ATi card if it matters.

Thanks :KS

It's not a solution, but you could install fusion-icon and use it to reload the window manager when those artifacts are created.
