I installed e17 to test it out and see what its like , and then when i went to log back into gnome compiz was off and i was seeing borderless windows so i added compiz --replace to the startup and that didnt work as it fixed the window borders but it didnt have all the settings i enabled set up, after running it again i had my settings back, so i added the compiz-icon to the startup list whick automatically invokes compiz and its working now as a temporary fix but its still taking ages to log in now as its starting up stuff!, i have a lot of stuff running but im trying to test karmic against jaunty in improvements speed etc, so i have all the effects enabled all the shiny stuff etc and mainly to show college people that linux can do it all but better!!! :-D,,
is there a session file i can edit to make it use compiz as default and set it to start before the other programs so they render properly??
thanks
