i compiled kernel using the guide at http://www.howtoforge.com/kernel_compilation_ubuntu_p2

However, i ended up having i have a very big initrd image(Installed by the ".deb packages" produced by fakeroot) around 40 MBs...and the deb packages produced by fakeroot

are

linux-image-2.6.30.4-sarfaraz_2.6.30.4-sarfaraz-10.00.Custom_i386.deb
(293 MBs)

linux-headers-2.6.30.4-sarfaraz_2.6.30.4-sarfaraz-10.00.Custom_i386.deb
(5.8 MBs)

and after i install these packages,
my initrd is worth 40 MBs
my vmlinuz is worth 4.1 MBs

is this normal??????

...My machine's working fine with this kernel..
