I wanted to install the 9.10 beta upgrade on four PCs. So I downloaded the Alternative CD ROM, daily build dated 20th Oct 2009.

When the upgrade installer runs it asks whether a network connection is to be used, I responded "NO", mainly because data is expensive here and the ADSL is slow during the day.

However, despite clicking NO for the network connection the installer decided to download anyway. It was going to take two days!!

So I started again. This time I disconnected the network.

Now the installer stops, saying it can't continue because there isn't an internet connection :(

Is there a way around this dilemma?
