Hi!

I have a home server with 4 x 750 gb HDD's in LVM, but some time ago my OS disk (250 gig) broke down.

Before i reinstall ubuntu on a new disk, I wonder if there will be any problems with the LVM disks? How can I setup the ubuntu/LVM to NOT loose 1,6 tb of data?

Im BTW kinda noob when it comes to linux...

Thanks for help!

I am not sure about LVM,but it is suggested before any installation/partitioning that you back up your data.

That is the only foolproof way to insure you don't lose your data. if you don't back up your data you are rolling the dice and gambling that nothing will happen. I would never chance it because my data is valuable to me. Your choice though!
