Is there a Mozbakup equivalent for ubuntu?

In ******* there is a program (Mozbakup) that lets one easily backup and restore settings for thunderbird and firefox. I have searched and that program is not available for linux. I know I can backup Thunderbird via the terminal but a program like the one mentioned above is sure handy.

may sound small but for firefox you can simply copy the contents of the ff profile onto ext hdd and paste them into the new profile after re-install, upgrade etc etc
