Server 8.10 upgrade

I want to upgrade our server to 9.x. I am not that experienced doing this so have a few novice queries:

1. Can I upgrade to the LTS version from the non 8.10 LTS?

2. I have Webmin and Apache running. Will these reappear after upgrade without problems? Maybe I should shut these down first?

3. What sort of backup should I do?

4. I have other drives (hdc) used for backups. Will these reappear as normal?

5. Should I upgrade Webmin first?

I assume the upgradde will slip in without any other programs realising but want to be sure. If there are any other points would be grateful to know.

Which version are you considering for LTS? 8.04 was the last LTS - the next one will (probably) be 10.04.

I would use the latest available if the upgrade was possible.
