I've got a HP Pavillion that I want to load Ubuntu on. It's a 2.8 Ghz processor, with 500 mb RAM. I don't really know too much more about it since it was given to me. Right now, it has no OS on it.

The load disk has been scanned for errors, and it's known to be good since I loaded Ubuntu on two other systems with it. It's got version 9.04 on it and I didn't do anything with the APCI modes or anything.

Basically, it gets to this point and the CD stops loading:

It then sits idle for a few minutes and throws this error code:

What's the next step? I've got more of a Windows background so I don't even know what to really search for to get help. Thanks.

I would start by checking the CD (one of the options on the ubuntu install disk) Try installing a stable version, like Hardy Heron.
