Windows 7 is coming out in a couple days, I wanted some disk space so I want to uninstall the Wubi Ubuntu 9.04 set-up I don't use often. When I try to remove it from Windows through the uninstall/change programs list, it says I don't have permission for the uninstaller. I went and found the uninstaller and I click and it does nothing. What should I do? If I delete the drive its on (its just ubuntu stuff on that drive) will it mess up the booting process?

Hi there!

I've not used Wubi myself, but have found a link on the Ubuntu site which may help.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide

Scroll down to the section "How do I uninstall Wubi" and it says "If the uninstaller fails (Wubi rev 505), try downloading and running Uninstall-Ubuntu.exe"

Also found this link, but the issue still looks to be outstanding.

Hope this helps.

Do run wubi.exe as an Administrator. Right Click and click "Run as Administrator" And no, deleting the Ubuntu files WILL NOT mess up the booting process, to remove the boot entry, use Easybcd. (i believe that you are on Vista).
