I think Linux gets a lot of negative attention from people mentioning how Adobe products, Apple Products, and a few other productivity lines don't have Linux native clients.

But I'd like to focus on the people who DO have Linux ports (this is usually commercial or closed source software).

We shouldn't deny people the ability to market their products in a closed-source format for Linux, since it would be beneficial for everyone if every Windows-centric company did consider it.

So I'm putting together a list of companies/developers/websites that support Linux explicitly.

There are a few I can name off the top of my head, but it would be great if you guys can add as many as possible. This includes commercial Linux vendors.

A few I can name: Skype, Vuze, Mozilla, Sun (VirtualBox, OpenOffice.org, Java).

Please help add to this list so I can get a thank you page together.

Our company uses a few web based apps, so using Linux desktops would work if some of those applications didn't need ActiveX (Microsft).

Please remember that if a company uses custom applications they can be designed to work under whatever OS the company prefers.

Activision

I went to the official sites of Atari and Activision but I didnt see anything listed for Linux.
Are all games supported for Linux? Are there any .debs?

Activision used to distribute games for id. I think wolfenstein was their last game though.

Thanks for the additions- keep 'em coming if you come across anything or remember someone.

I likewise hope the Ubuntu Software Center will supply developers with a more reasonable area to sell their wares. Also, I hope openSUSE, Fedora, and the others will have access to installer packages for similar software in the form of a download from some official site. It would be great to have a singular repository for commercial Linux products presented all together on a single secure website.

:3 I can see a bright future on the horizon.

As "sudoer541" mentioned, Adobe has ported Flash for Linux. They also have a Linux version of Adobe Reader, which I recently installed.

Alright- looks like a good list, so far. I'm looking for a few more on my own, then I'll post it somewhere- might even see if I can't get it approved for official Ubuntu Documentation sometime.

But I'll post the link here, soon. There'll be a box to submit new ones if I forgot them or you're a cross-platform developer.
