I just installed limewire then, to uninstall I went to system > admin > synaptic package manager > searched for: limewire > right click > set for complete removal > apply.

I already did you suggestion, and now I tried also and got this error:

(Reading database ... 140334 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing limewire-basic ...
Warning: /usr/share/gconf/schemas/limewire.schemas could not be found.
Usage: gconf-schemas --[un]register file1.schemas [file2.schemas [...]]

gconf-schemas: error: You need at least a file to (un)register.
dpkg: error processing limewire-basic (--purge):
subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
limewire-basic
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:

I think there is an important issue which is notified here:

Warning: /usr/share/gconf/schemas/limewire.schemas could not be found.

Any idea please....

Thank you for your response, I removed it by copying the missing file from another machine...
