Seem familiar? Oh yeah, some newer PS2s did this too with third-party memory cards.

Seem familiar? Oh yeah, basically what SONY did with Other OS Support in the PS3 slims.

How is this equivalent to the other OS support?? Microsoft is adding an anti-future which blocks certain hardware. The other OS option is an additional future, which is still available on fat ps3s, and was never available on the slim models. It's not like they are taking anything away from you...
