Okay, so, I burned Ubuntu onto a CD and went to install it onto my laptop--several of you have seen this predicament, as I continuously post about it.

Anyway, about 60% into the installation, I get this message:

The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk:

[Errno 5] Input/output error: '/rofs/usr/share/cups/templates/test-page.tmpl'

This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, or to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers.

Before installing, I made sure the disk was okay by running the test option when it boots. It said it was fine, so why is this happening? Can I still use Ubuntu?

Do you have enough space on the target hard disk partition? Does the Live CD part of the disk work OK?
