New to (k)ubuntu here:

64 bit version kernel 28.15

After upgrading my kernel, the boot splash now drops to text at the time it starts to do the file system checks.

I'd rather it stay on the graphical mode (unless I hit spacebar). Anyone know how to fix this? I did see when booting the alternate kubuntu disk the text appeared below the kubuntu graphic on the screen - that would be cool.

While we're at it - I've seen some distros that have higher resolution terminal modes (true terminal). Anyone know how to get that working???

I'd like 120x40 or something close rather than 80x25
