View Full Version : [ubuntu] gettext tools not found ; required for intltool

I'm using the 9.10 release from the LinuxUser Magazine disk.

I get the error message "gettext tools not found" when doing ./compile of
a number of packages eg: Gnome-Network-Manager (latest version downloaded)

I have downloaded and installed the latest intltool & latest gettext (0 1 7)
This configures and make installs without any errors I can spot, however
I get the above message (in subject line) when I try to ./configure packages as above.

I can't do any auto downloads as the reason I'm trying to do this is to install my dialup modem (why in gods name take modems out of an OS that requires internet connections to update !!!! - I'm sorry its plain daft
please put them back in future releases)

Anyway - i found a number of similar messages via google but all the solutions seem to have been wiped or moved elsehwere.

Any help appreciated
TIA

Az.
