Hi all,
I installed Ubuntu 9.04 after re-formatting my hard drive due to a suspected viral attack under XP.
Anywho, Ubuntu works fantastically - except for when the screen freezes and I get limited movement from the mouse.
I've found that it will freeze sooner when the PC is being used on youtube, playing music and surfing the web than standing idle. It'll take up to 15-30 mins while I'm doing something to freeze, whereas I can leave it overnight idle and it's still fine until I've used it a few mins in the morning again.
Seems to be the only way to unfreeze it is to reboot the PC.
Are there any tests this newbie can perform that I could post here that someone may help to diagnose this frustrating problem, please?
Thanks in advance,
Baldrick.
PS: I tried to install opensuse as well (before Ubuntu but after the reformat) but it didn't want to install at all.
