View Full Version : [ubuntu] Screenlets slow F9

I'm having a small issue using screenlets. I have it all setup and working. However when I press F9 to load the widget layer my system will pause for about 30 seconds and not allow me to do anything. Same thing happens when I press F9 to hide the widget layer.

Currently I only have the Calculator loading.

Any ideas what might be causing this to happen?

It could be compiz slowing it down. Do you have compiz enabled?

I do have compiz runing. Do I not need this for using the F9?

There is a widget layer plugin for compiz, as such it may be slowing you down. Open up ccsm and see if changing or disabling the widget layer plugin helps.
