Using the usb mode switch utility and following their website's instructions I was able to get my alltel 3g card (um175 or something like that) working and dialing alltel under 8.04. I can get it to connect to alltel but it won't send or receive anything. Can't get a ping out either. So it's dialing and saying it's connected, but it's not really connected.
I don't know enough about network traffic to effectively use a sniffer, I barely know enough about linux to do anything. I've been on pc's for 25 years or so now, but strictly dos and windows. So this is familiar, but the command line takes a bit of getting used to. Very thankful for all you folks who take the time to put tutorials and the like out there for everyone.
