I used the alt installer for Xubuntu on my desktop since the only monitor I have is a tv, and the default settings weren't working with it. Now Xubuntu is successfully installed on my hard drive, but when I try to reboot it still cannot because it's still trying to use the same video display settings. Since the splash screen is the only one that comes while booting I don't see how I am going to change the video display setting if I can't actually get into Linux. Is there some sort of button (like F2 or something) that I can hit to give me options before the OS starts up?

What display setting is it trying to use? What happens exactly when you start Xubuntu with the tv connected?

It goes through the splash screen with the bar bouncing back and forth, and once it finishes loading the screen just goes blank, and nothing happens.

Since no one knows the answer I will just go buy a computer monitor, and see if that works.
