I'm looking for an LCD to complement my 15" laptop. Ideally I would get a 24" but my desk has a shelf over it which only leaves 14.9" (about 38 cm) of vertical space between it and the desk. I've looked at the specs for a lot of LCDs, and figured that it would likely have to be a 22" diagonal or less, but the vertical heights go anywhere from 13" to 17". The reason I'm guessing is that the spec sheets don't tell whether the dimension is for the box, the viewing area, or the monitor with stand. For example this 22" (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-TechBargains&cm_mmc=AFC-TechBargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&Item=N82E16824236067) is actually shorter than this 19" (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-TechBargains&cm_mmc=AFC-TechBargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&Item=N82E16824254042) going by the listed dimensions.
:)
If you have time, could you please measure the height of your LCD including the stand? I need a few samples from 19" to 24" monitors.
