im new of couse but how do i install

its a iso... i dont have the software for it and the new hard drive i just got has been wiped completely.... please help me

Welcome to Ubuntu!

the .iso is an image file that needs to be burned to a cd/dvd
You then boot up your computer with the installation disc and follow the prompts to install to your hard drive.

Since there are so many disc burning softwares, i did not include instructions specific for any one.
There should be an option of 'burn image' or something of that order.

Blank HD? You'll need an operating system to either

- burn the iso into a CD
- do a network install
- even save the iso to your HD for use.

Maybe a friend could help you out and burn the iso into a CD. I've used the following applications to burn:

Sorry ... but I am out of ideas.

Then again, maybe I misunderstood your post and the words "completely wiped".
