I just purchased a netbook without a optical drive.So since I am networked with desktop pc, should I take the chance and try and install from my desktop remotely? right now the netbook only has xp on it.

Do I use the install file 0n the
desktoop or my netbook?

go for it. Or you could take a flash drive and turn it into a bootable Flash drive and install ubuntu that way. You should use the ubuntu nextbook remix
