Nexuiz 2.5.2 Update Problems

Hello. I am using Ubuntu 9.04 32 bit. I am using the a205-s5814 laptop from toshiba. I installed Nexuiz with the sudo apt-get way. However after installing I was notified to update my version to the new 2.5.2 version of Nexuiz. I have googled a buch but I only come up with a plethora of non-working driections. Currently I ran Nexuiz-linux-686-sdl & -glx. Both open up a Nexuiz screen but My cursur is a box, the quality is terrible and audio is choppy.

*note: I downloaded the patch and extracted to my desktop.

I too have problems with choppy sound and now choppy input response. since updating to 2.5.2 no problems with my mouse "in a box" though. I am now running at 1920x1080 res but i went back to my old res and still chop chop chop.
